Hello everyone,

My name is James Kittle, and I’m honoured to be writing this as the new owner and chimney sweep behind Jennings Chimney Sweeping. As many of you know, Kristian will be stepping away from the business at the end of next week, and I’ll be taking over the brush—both literally and figuratively.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. I’ve lived in France for the past 15 years and have raised my family here. We’ve built a life in this wonderful country, and I feel fortunate every day to call it home. Until recently, I ran a bar and restaurant in Mauprévoir. After selling that business, I found myself looking for a new vocation—something meaningful that I could really take pride in. That’s when I met Kristian.

It didn’t take long to see that Kristian had built something quite special: a business grounded in professionalism, care, and an exceptional standard of work. His attention to detail and the trust he’s earned from all of you really resonated with me. I realised that this could be a path where I too could find that same sense of achievement—by continuing the work that Kristian has done so well.

Taking over Jennings Chimney Sweeping isn’t something I’ve entered into lightly. I understand there are some big shoes to fill. That said, both Kristian and I are confident that I’m the right man for the job. I’ve trained with the same respected organisation—The Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps—and gone further by completing additional qualifications with EU-recognised chimney sweeping bodies. I have also been awarded an artisanal “Attestation de Qualification Professionnelle” from the Chambre de Métiers, officially recognising my professional competence within France. On top of that, I’ve spent over 200 hours of hands-on training alongside Kristian since October, learning his exact working methods, his approach to diagnosis, and how to uphold the high standards you’ve come to expect. I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting many of you during this training, and I’m truly looking forward to meeting even more in the months to come.

One thing I want to reassure you about is continuity. Very little will change with the business. The name Jennings Chimney Sweeping will remain, as will all the branding, the traditional sweeping attire (hat and waistcoat included!), the website, the ‘Book Now’ form, and of course, the fast responses and smooth process you’ve come to rely on. The booking system, appointment reminders, post-visit emails and reports—these will all stay exactly the same. The only change is that it will now be me arriving at your door, instead of Kristian.

I also recognise that it’s a privilege to be invited into someone’s home, which will be treated with the utmost respect every time I visit—just as you have come to expect with a Jennings Chimney Sweeping appointment.

I’m incredibly excited to be taking the reins and building on the excellent reputation that Kristian has established. I hope to not only maintain the level of service you’ve come to expect but continue to grow and develop the business with the same passion and pride.
